March of the Elephants update.

Popped in to see Elwood in his temporary home at the St. Giles Hospice shop in Wade Street, Lichfield (opposite The Garrick Theatre) last week. He is looking good and is being well looked after.
I also handed over £450 which was raised at the club's junior presentation day on 23rd June. This takes our total raised so far for the hospice to £1,250. Many thanks again to club members and supporters for pledging money and purchasing raffle tickets.
Elwood will return to the club in September once the March of the Elephants project finishes. For more information about the hospice's project please see http://www.marchoftheelephants.co.uk .
Having fundraised for The Wooden Spoon and St. Giles Hospice in the last two seasons, this coming season's nominated charity is closer to home. We have chosen The Chloe Smail Foundation which has been set up to support mental health and suicide awareness charities.
The first fundraising event is CloFest hosted by the club on Saturday, 17th August. There will be a variety of attractions on offer so I hope that the afternoon will be well-supported. Further fundraising events will be staged throughout the season.
